ALL PLAN TO RESTRICT INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM AND OPPORTUNITY IN FAVOR OF TOTAL GOVERNMENT CONTROL
WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU WILL GET
I watched 2/3 of the democrat debate last night. I just could not stay awake any longer, mostly because I get up very early, not because they were boring.
While their plans differ slightly, they all have the same theme, restrict individual rights and freedoms and increase government control.
Taxes, they all propose to raise taxes, especially corporate income taxes, such a plan will make U.S. business's less competitive with the rest of the world. It will also discourage business from expanding or locating in this country. It will mean less jobs for the future and a stagnating economy.
Health care: they all propose some form of government run health care. Medicare for all, which would outlaw all private insurance or just some incremental expansion of more government provided health care. The current budget is 4 Trillion, adding 3.2 trillion a year in government healthcare would nearly double the taxes needed to pay for this. They all admit, except for Elizabeth Warren that there will be a raise in taxes. If you look at all the repercussions of these plans it will be more healthcare chaos for the foreseeable future.
They all believe they can tax the rich and not raise any taxes on the bottom earners, The bottom 50% do not pay income tax now. Sanders openly proposes that they should tax the so called rich out of existence. What is considered the rich today may very well be you tomorrow.
Asset Taxes. Warren, Sanders and others propose taxing the assets of people with wealth. Starting at taking 2% of these folks assets every year. Remember when the Income tax was started, it was 1% on everything over $100,000. That was a lot of money in early 1900's. Does anyone believe it will not be increased and the threshold lowered to satisfy in insatiable hunger for tax revenues by government?
Who if going to decide what your assets are worth? We are now taxed on our property which is appraised by the government. Are they going to appraise your cars, your collections, your jewelry and everything you own? If they attempt to confiscate 2% of paper assets, Will there be a rush to gold, silver, collectibles etc.. This could be a disaster for pension funds, 401 K's etc. Will they use these laws to direct investments that they like by not taxing some. I guess this could be a boon to an army of accountants and appraisers on one side and a government army of appraisers on the other. Will it be enforceable? Will it cost more to implement and enforce than the revenue realized? Will everyone have to file an asset return to see what you owe? Division and Chaos
Gun Control, they all propose outlawing and confiscating certain weapons. Especially rifles which accounted for around 270 murders last year. None have given a clear indication on how they will attempt to enforce this nor state the penalties on those who have a constitutional belief that they do not have this power. More division and chaos.
I could go on, but I did not hear 1 proposal that would make the lives of all Americans better, every proposal is to punish one group to get the votes of the other. If our politicians would propose only to address items were there is vast agreement, they would go a long way to healing the nation.
Some state that we should not believe them, not to worry, they will not really do any of this. What you see is what you will get.
Every candidate seemed desperate to score some points as it may have been their last chance to keep in this race. It appears at the moment Warren is moving up, Biden is moving down. There is 1 issue that both republican and democrats, who are not part of government, agree on, that they have seen enough government corruption. Maybe they should make that a campaign issue.
