Trump clarifies position on abortion.

YES, LET DEMOCRACY IN THE STATES DECIDE

REMOVING ABORTION FROM NATIONAL POLITICS BEST FOR THE COUNTRY

Yesterday, Donald Trump voiced his position on abortion. He believes it it best to let the citizens of the states decide. While it may take some time, it is the best decision for the country. It is the perfect example of the benefits of states rights and for democracy to work. It would be best for the states to propose a series of referendums on this  issue to fine tune the citizens wishes on this subject. Not a politically charges decision by lawmakers, not a poison pill referendum, but a series of referendums to come to a state decision that would be binding for 5 years before revisited.

Removing this issue from national politics is the least divisive approach and is in the best interests for the country. What is acceptable in California will most likely be unacceptable in Alabama. Besides the Supreme court ruled that the constitution does not address abortion, so constitutionally it then remains the purview of the states.

Trump also publicly endorsed  Invitro fertilization that has allowed so many to have children who previously would have been denied that possibility. This particular issue was a lame attempt of the abortion lobby to use the slippery slope of legislation involving birth control and invitro to gain support for national legislation to protect abortion rights.

Contrary to the national narrative, abortion is not illegal in this country. The supreme court did not make abortion illegal. All that has changed is that the states now have the onerous duty to make decisions about this issue.

The states that engage in a objective series of referendums to allow the citizens to have a range of choices on this issue and then let the democratic process work is the best way to address this divisive issue. Whether you are for abortion or find it repulsive, multiple decisions will allow this to be the least divisive and least damaging approach for the country.
