Impeachment inquiry facts and fiction

IMPEACHMENT HEARINGS, LONG ON ASSUMPTIONS SHORT ON FACTS

DEMOCRATS SPEND MOST TIME QUESTIONING EACH OTHER

The Democrats have yet to provide facts to support their impeachment inquiry.

Facts in this whole matter are:

1. Hunter Biden the son of Joe Biden, and Devon Archer, best friend of Christopher Heinz, step son of John Kerry, were paid $166,000 a month from Burisma Holdings a Ukrainian Gas Co. They were partners in Rosemont Seneca a Washington based consulting Co.. They were appointed to the board of directors while Joe Biden was Vice-President and overseeing Ukrainian affairs.Neither spoke Ukrainian, had any experience in the Gas industry or can show that they ever attended a board meeting.

Joe Biden bragged that he forced the previous Ukrainian government to fire their prosecutor who was investigating Burisma Holdings. He can be viewed in a meeting at the Council of foreign relations stating that if they wanted $1 billion in aid they had 6 hours to fire this prosecutor and they did just that.  https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2019/09/27/flashback_2018_joe_biden_brags_at_cfr_meeting_about_withholding_aid_to_ukraine_to_force_firing_of_prosecutor.html

Is any attempt to investigate this arrangement an impeachable offense because Biden is running for president?

2. There was never any provable link between Trump, Zelensky and the holding of aid to the Ukraine.

3. While Ukraine is fighting a separatist movement in eastern Ukraine there was not an imminent danger of this aid hold having a negative outcome for Ukraine. This conflict has been ongoing for 5 years as a low level dispute. If Russia had an inclination to invade Ukraine they could roll over Ukraine in a couple of weeks even with the aid.

4. The hold in the aid at the time of the infamous phone call was not even known by the Ukrainians.

5. The aid was released within 10 days of the seating of the new parliament which replaced a parliament that was corrupt by everyone's standard. There was a question that much of the former aid to Ukraine was siphoned off by corrupt individuals in the government. The new Ukrainian parliament passed strong anti-corruption legislation in their first days in office. This was followed by a meeting with Vice-President Pence, and the aid was released within days. The State Department supported Porshenko the corrupt former Ukrainian leader.

6. There never was a white house meeting and there never was an announcement of an investigation into the Bidens.

7. The accusations by the Leaker/whistle blower were exaggerated and an inaccurate account of the conversation.

8. As far as obstruction of congress, the white house does have a right to Executive privilege concerning conversations with his close advisers. This is a long standing precedent. The congress and the executive have equal power and this matter was ongoing before the court. Again a very weak case.

9. These hearing were mostly interviews with people who disagreed with Trump's foreign policy view, who consider themselves more qualified to make decisions concerning foreign policy. Many of these people had a very puffed up view of their position. Much of these hearings had to do with democrats interviewing other democrats and their own lawyers. A lot hyperbole, a lot of affirmation of their assumptions, without any facts.

10. The Ukrainians deny that there was any quid pro quo.

This whole fiasco is just another attempt to drive down the presidents poll numbers to influence the 2020 election. There has been little focus of any positive work on the behalf of the country. Trump is actually a very flexible leader who could have supported a resolution of the DACA issue, in exchange for  border security. Who would have supported infrastructure rebuilding and other important issues with some cooperation from the democrats. Sadly it has shown that Democrats can not be trusted with power, not even with just the control of the House of Representatives. Could anyone imagination the abuse of power they would engage in if given more control of the government.

  1. As a political junkie from Pennsylvania living in the high cotton of South Carolina I too had some observations on the Nadler Show .Have our elected Congressman's competence deteriorated so badly that it ended up with tax-payer funded hired guns testifying and asking each other questiones .When did that start? I may have missed it but were these litigators sworn in ? I heard issues of National security brought up and wondered why would any foreign leaders or intelligence directors talk to any American leaders when you have various scoundrels running to the press when they hear phone conversations. Can't wait to hear the hearsay and Deep State operatives explain how they, not the President set foreign policy in the Senate Hearings

  2. The political warfare engaged in by the Democrats in this country has caused irreparable harm to our foreign relations, particularly with Russia. They would like voters to believe that $40,000 in Facebook public opinion polls cost Hillary the election. The media has been complicit in never pointing out our interference in the political affairs of other countries, including their elections. They are obsessed with regaining political power without any regard for the well being of the country.
