OVER 110 JURISDICTIONS DECLARE GUN SANCTUARIES

DEMOCRATS CAN NOT RESIST OVERREACH

Democrats became a majority party in both the Senate and House in Virginia. Their first goal is to pass sweeping gun control legislation, Red flag laws, confiscation of certain weapons, gun registration, magazine bans, a complete wish list of the anti second amendment crowd.

The huge Democratic wins in Virginia were orchestrated by heavy funding by Mike Bloomberg to make Virginia a show case of anti-gun legislation. The Virginia  Democrats are attempting to fulfill their side of the bargain.

The push-back began within days of the introduction of legislation. It has taken the form of large crowds at all public meetings, many in the hundreds and some in the thousands. It has been a hot but so far peaceful exercise of their first amendment rights. It has now expanded with over 110 municipalities and counties declaring themselves second amendment sanctuaries, pledging to refuse to enforce any oppressive and unconstitutional laws. Some sheriffs have pledged to deputized everyone in their county.

The Virginia Attorney general has warned that they are preparing to expand the prisons and will enforce the law strongly. He should lead the way on going house to house.

The gun sanctuary movement has been going on for some time in Colorado and other western states were rural counties have refused to enforce laws they deem unconstitutional. It is the first such movement in the east and close to Washington D.C. It has become a very hot issue in Virginia and may have strong political repercussions in the upcoming election.  

At this time these measures have yet to be voted upon, we will see some resolution of this battle in the coming days.
