There has been a low level war going on in the middle east for several years. This is a war being conducted by Iranian proxies in Lebanon, Israel, Syria, Iraq, Gaza, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and in most countries in the Area. This has mostly been conducted with rocket attacks and terrorist bombings against Israel, Saudi Arabia and wherever Iran is working to increase its influence. These rockets have all been supplied by Iran and coordinated by the Iranian Quds force commanded by General Qassem Soleimani. Yesterday was the first major counter by the United States in the killing of Soleimani. Make no mistake, this event is being celebrated in many place is the middle east.

There has been an ongoing conflict between Israel and Iranian backed militants including Hezbollah for years. It is almost a daily event that Iranian missiles are being launched into Israel. The Israeli's killed a top Iranian general several Years ago in southern Syria.

When Trump pulled most of the U.S. troops out of Syria, no one took notice to his remark that in the big picture, the U.S. had bigger fish to fry. This big fish is Iran.

While giving Turkey the OK to erect a safe zone in northern Syria it set the stage for the final battle of the Syria conflict, the liberation of Idlib province. This battle has been underway for some time conducted by Syrian ground troops and assisted by Russian air power. The civilian refugees from Idlib are being sheltered in the Turkish safe zone and not allowed to enter Turkey or migrate north. Hopefully they will be able to return to their homes soon. Media has been silent on this event.

The long range goal of Turkey, Russia, Syria and the U.S. and its middle east allies is that Iran will then leave Syria and one day a free democratic Lebanon.

Turkey is also moving troops into Libya in an attempt to end the Libyan civil war.

The pressure has been on Iran for some time. The tough sanctions has forced Iran to cut its financial support for its proxies in the area. Without Iranian support its proxies will be at a disadvantage to the new unified effort with Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the gulf countries. This pressure may increase in the near future.

The U.S., up until now, has shown great restraint in not retaliating against Iranian attacks on Saudi oil fields, ships in the Persian gulf, Israel, and the shooting down of a U.S. drone. It was an example of going the extra mile to avoid military conflict with Iran. That came to and end when Hezbollah and Iranian proxies attacked U.S. bases in Iraq resulting in the death of a U.S. citizen and injuring others.

Then the Iranian backed attack on our embassy, followed by the elimination of Soleimani and other Iranian leaders. Soliemani is responsible for the death of hundreds of U.S. serviceman and the maiming of thousands when he orchestrated the use of roadside bombs in Iraq.

The middle east coalition is on board with the increasing pressure on Iran. the pressure will now increase on the European allies to get on board.

The Democrats have already begun their attempt to make this a political event and try to shape it to their political advantage. With the history of leaks and false information in Washington, is it any wonder that all pre-planning for this event was confined to those who needed to know to protect our troops.

  1. I have been watching the non-stop Soleimani coverage the last few days.None of these 'Experts' have explained why General Soleimani was at the Baghdad Airport with in striking distance of American intelligence operatives .Was He having a mid-life crisis thinking he was James Bond.He knew the Americans and Israel forces wanted him dead.In Vietnam success was measured in body counts,in today's world it's dead terrorists. Our Democratic friends touted the killing of Bin Laden but not so much with Soleimani.
