WILL WE NOW HAVE ESCALATION OR NEGOTIATION?
TIME TO HAVE RESOLUTION OF 40 YEAR CONFLICT
The destiny of Iran is now in their own hands. The offers of negotiations have been on the table for years. It is now up to Iran to decide the path it will choose.
The objectives of the United States concerning Iran are:
1. Iran permanently suspend their quest for obtaining nuclear weapons.
2. They permanently suspend their sponsorship of terrorist actions in the middle east and Africa.
3. They eliminate their long range offensive missile program.
In exchange Iran could obtain:
1. Congressional approval of a peace treaty that would give Iran a non-aggression assurance by the United States.
2. The removal of all sanctions and the resumption of all trade.
The other option is that Iran will continue to attack the U.S. and its allies. That will provide the opportunity to take military action to eliminate their nuclear facilities, their missile installations and manufacturing facilities for offensive weapons.
The next option would be to destroy their oil refining facilities.
Since its inception In 1979, Iran has been on a quest to spread it brand of Islamic fundamentalism in the middle East and around the world. They have stated that they desire to wipe Israel off the map. Any attempt to do this to Israel will lead to a nuclear attack on Iran by Israel and have disastrous consequences on the world.
Iran is a large country with many resources, and well educated population. They could have a very prosperous future, but that will not happen if they continue on this path.
The western world in turn needs to respect the religious and cultural traditions of all the counties in the region and make an effort to not meddle in their personal affairs. The rise of Islamic Fundamentalism is a rejection of the moral slide of the western world and its attempt to spread their beliefs around the world. While Democracy is the best form of government, it cannot be imposed from the outside, but must be embraced by the citizens. It has to be fought for and won by a strong desire of the majority of the people.
We have engaged in commerce and often been allies of Muslim counties for hundreds of years. We should allow them to live and rule as they desire in their own counties.
