Russian Asset claims trigger 2 lawsuits

TULSI GABBARD AND CARTER PAGE FILE DEFAMATION LAWSUITS

HILLARY CLINTON AND DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE SUED

Two lawsuits filed in the last few weeks will at least require that accusations about being Russian agents will no longer be trivialized. Such accusations in the last few years have caused great harm to individuals, their families and the country. Depending how these cases proceed, it may be just the first of many to follow.

The first was Carter Page who was named in the infamous dossier as a Russian Agent. This idea was pushed around until it triggered surveillance warrants to be issued which resulted in the whole Donald Trump political campaign being placed under surveillance.

Carter Page has now sued the Democratic National committee, who along with the Hillary Clinton campaign paid for the fabrication, and the DC law firm of Perkins Coie who funneled the money to the authors of the dossier. Others may eventually be implicated in this lawsuit. This lawsuit has gained credibility now that much of the background in this affair has become public knowledge. It is expected that much more is going to be revealed in the coming months.

The second lawsuit has been filed by Tulsi Gabbard, a democratic presidential candidate, U.S. House member from Hawaii, a veteran of the middle east wars and a present officer in the National Guard. Her suit against Hillary Clinton is in regards to Clinton's assertion in a public interview that Gabbard is a Russian asset. This was in a reaction to Gabbard questioning U.S. foreign policy in the middle east during a presidential debate. Clinton initially avoided and refused being served with this suit, but her lawyers finally complied and the lawsuit will go forward.

Both are David and Goliath lawsuits, common people against powerful people and organizations in Washington D.C.. It is at least a start in putting some restraint on slander and misinformation that can ruin peoples lives. Both these cases represent innocent individuals caught in the middle of power struggles in high places. It will be interesting to see what lengths some may go to crush anyone who opposes them.
