Media dilemma , cover press conferences or not.

MEDIA IS CONCERNED THAT VIRUS TASK FORCE DAILY BRIEFINGS ARE BENEFITING TRUMP

THEY ARE BEING ENCOURAGED TO JUST SHOW SOUND-BITES AND COMMENTARY BY THEIR ANALYSTS

Freedom From Mainsteam Media Monopoly Lies

We are continuously hearing about infringements on freedom of the press and speech in this country. The accusations are often thrown at the Trump administration for pushing back at reporters and their coverage. Their dilemma now is that the Trump administration is now having daily press conferences with many of the members of the task force on the Corona virus crisis. They are not only giving a daily unfiltered update on the progress of their efforts and the statistics for the future. They also provide access to the President, Vice-President, other members of the administration and the experts who are guiding the decision making of the administration. They have also been given the opportunity to ask almost unlimited questions, which if a real question and not a snarky jab or gotcha question is answered by someone.

The American people also have the opportunity to watch these press conferences in their entirety. It is a good open, transparent, unfiltered view of the situation. If they are willing to take the time to view, they will have good information of how to avoid becoming a victim and how to plan for the near future. As time has gone on the American people have had the ability to somewhat get to know all these people in a more personal way.

This is were the press is now realizing this is a dangerous pattern that they should not encourage or engage in. At first they attempted to undercut the information directly in the press conference, by questioning information, relevance, political opportunity, contradictions with other statements, and opinions of other experts. Trump usually put up with some of this and then successfully questioned their motives and found that Trump was also benefiting from their antagonism.

Much of the media has attempted to become a sort of shadow government, attempting to push and shove the course of the nation to follow their view. They rely on almost a 100% opinion of former members of the Obama and Clinton administration. They are attempting to use their position to actually run a parallel government. It is becoming more clear to many by the day.

They fail to realize that in a real national crisis, the majority of people are willing to unit behind their leaders for the best interest of the country. The public also realizes this is a unique and unprecedented event and believe everyone is doing what they believe to be in the best interest of the country. They can accept that this whole event is a little bit  trial and error and also a balance of many interests. It is a learning experience for everyone.

So now the press is considering only showing highlights of these conferences, their view of what people should see, and provide a critique of the conference. Only problem is, the people will have an option to watch in its entirety, unfiltered, at Fox, C-span or One America News. They run the risk of losing large numbers of viewers who will watch somewhere else if they don't cover it.

It will be interesting to see how they decide what to do in this dilemma.
