New crisis brewing in New York and New Jersey.

LACK OF STATES ACTION WILL LEAD TO FOOD SHORTAGES

ONCE VENDORS STOP SUPPLYING STORES IT WILL BE TOO LATE

When will NJ supermarkets restock? Shoppers leave bare shelves

The states of New York and New Jersey are on the verge of a much greater crisis than the pandemic. They have yet to take action to insure the safety of distributors and their employees who stock the shelves of the states grocery stores.

They have cut the hours of the stores being opened but have insisted that the distributors stock shelves while they are open to the general public. This creates a unsafe condition for those who daily stock the shelves of these store.

Some distributors have contracted the virus and others are now taking vacation rather than service these stores. It may only be days when more are going to refuse to go into some areas. The states can help this situation by having deliveries made during closed hours and they will also need to provide security for them while they are working. Their cargo's  may need to be protected from theft while they are in the store locations.

This may become a problem in other states as well. These adjustments could give workers the peace of mind to continue to do this important work.

An example is Italy where food shortages are beginning to become a crisis situation. This is followed by looting, and assault and theft from the most vulnerable.

Once this situation escalates there will likely be no easy answer to bring it under control. They may have a closing window of opportunity to insure a stable food supply for the area.
