MASKS, GLOVES AND DISTANCING IS IN. STAY AT HOME NOT SO MUCH
STORES THAT ARE OPEN ARE DOING GOOD BUSINESS
There is much talk about how to reopen the country. It is already happening. While I have lots of work at home to keep me busy, I see commercial activity picking up. I have been going out a couple of times a week to buy materials and supplies. For awhile there were few cars on the road, it was kinda nice, no traffic to compete with. That all changed on Monday, everywhere I went I saw full parking lots and lines at check-outs. This was not only at food stores, but anyplace that was open, from Dollar General, Lowes and Tractor Supply. I was a little surprised.
Social distancing was being practiced, masks are much more common and some wearing gloves. It seems many are doing home projects and need those things to accomplish their goal. This is likely how the virus response will end, not with a government edict, but just a slow steady return to everyday activities.
We see fishing season has opened, I guess bait and tackle stores are now essential business. Motorcycle traffic is up, parts and maintenance will be needed, even if the mechanic will be wearing a mask.
Those business's not considered essential will soon be getting antsy. Small individual operated business's have been doing business, just call, they will supply your needs. No reason that outdoor construction is not going on, just distance and masks are in order.
We can expect government and big-box stores to be the last to open. Government unions will milk it as long as possible. Big-box stores will fear liability. It may happen sooner if employees return voluntarily.
It appears this will be a slow, steady return to normal, not a one day government imprimatur. The new normal will be social distance, masks, gloves, hand washing and a new awareness that disease is spread mostly from other people, not from inanimate objects.
