INSTEAD OF SHUT-DOWN, PROTECTING THE VULNERABLE IS THE BEST APPROACH
As of May 25, 2020 the United States has a reported death toll attributed to Corvid-19 of 99,300. This is a rate of 300 per million.population. This is the second best rate in the major developed world that has reliable reporting. Of this total over 33% nationwide have occurred in nursing homes.
Near 50% of deaths have occurred in New York and New Jersey, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Nursing home deaths have been a result of the states transferring positive Corvid patients, who have been recovering, from the hospitals to nursing homes for rehab. This is a staggering number in many states.
Minnesota 81% of deaths occurred in nursing homes.
New Hampshire 77.1%
Rhode Island 74.9%
Pennsylvania 68.6%
Delaware 67.8 %
Nebraska 66.3%
Washington 61.5%
Massachusetts 60.2%
Oregon 60.1 %
Maryland 60.1%
Many states have not yet calculated all these statistics. some would likely hope to keep it secret, but it will eventually all be investigated and be made public. It is likely that in the end it may be that the nursing home deaths in the U.S. may approach 50% of the total deaths.

This includes Spain with 28,752 deaths at a rate of 615 per million.
The U.K. 36,793 a rate of 542 per million.
Italy 32,785 with a rate of 542 per million.
France 28,267 with a rate of 435 per million.
Germany with 8,371 with a rate of 100 per million.
Germany has set the standard for the best approach worldwide.
It appears within a few weeks most states will re-open, continued attention needs to be placed on nursing homes and other elderly and vulnerable citizens.
While cases continue to rise, it is much a result of increased testing which is revealing the number of infected. The rate of cases and deaths is declining steadily. The U.S. has now tested over 14,000,000 people with reported positive cases of 1.6 million.
