Will Impeachment be part of future campaign strategy?

THERE WERE SEVERAL OPPORTUNITIES TO BEGIN IMPEACHMENT AGAINST OBAMA

WILL WE SEE MORE IN THE FUTURE?

As we watch the impeachment saga move on, it is becoming clear that this is nothing more than campaign strategy to wound the President in the 2020 election. Have we now opened the door to use this strategy every time the opposition holds the House of Representatives?

What makes it all the more obvious is that the Democrats have been threatening impeachment even before the inauguration of the President. It seems they have used this as a rallying cry for their base. They have promised and now they must deliver.

We do recall far more serious offenses under the Obama administration. Fast and Furious, were the ATF intentionally assisted in the sale of guns to the Mexican cartels, The obvious obstruction by their attorney general in refusing to obey subpoenas. The Republicans just let it go, probably considering the damage it would cause to the country. There was also the IRS targeting of conservative groups. There was the cover-up in the Benghazi affair. There were other more clear and serious opportunities that were passed up. Does anyone doubt that such opportunities will be dismissed in the future?

Another by-product of this fiasco is that future presidents will likely have a tendency to clean house of all suspect civil servants in the white house staff and the National Security council. Trump would have been much better off if he would have screened and moved all questionable people far from Washington D.C. Does anyone really think that the precedents set will go unnoticed by future Presidents?

As we watch this hasty half-assed impeachment process it has become clear it is more about making a statement than an actual serious attempt to remove a president. You can bet that in the future it will become a much more perfected process.
