Using Fauci to slow economic recovery.

SOME WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE SHUT-DOWN UNTIL THERE IS A VACCINE

STOP GOVERNMENT MANDATED SHUT-DOWN, LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE

Fauci testimony: States face serious consequences if they reopen ...

Yesterday was the much anticipated Senate hearing on allowing the economy to move back to an open for business position. Many were waiting for the head of NIH to put a damper on any attempts to restart the economy. Anthony Fauci has been the hope of the stay-closed faction of politicians and media types to oppose the reopening of the economy. He has been put into a political position, even when he has tried to avoid taking political positions. Yesterday was yet another attempt to use his words to continue to shut down the economy. While he never said anything that would directly make that recommendation, he will be interpreted by the media and other shut-down supporters as saying just that.

The two big news quotes are that Fauci said that opening too soon, without having the necessary plan in place to address outbreaks could be dangerous. This is no revelation, everyone understands that a careful reopening with back-up plans to address likely flare-ups is needed.

The second issue being spun today is that Fauci said school should not open in the fall. He did not. He answered a question on whether there would be a vaccine or other treatments available by the fall, he stated that that was unlikely. This is enough for many to proclaim school should be closed until there is a vaccine available.

He also stated that the country will be in a better position in the fall to address a reemergence of the virus. This of course, will not be a statement to be talked about.

The question is, will the virus be controlled by a shut-down or by social distancing and proper sanitation.

The reality is that the virus is going to be here for another year, and we cannot shut down the economy for another year without causing irreparable damage to the economy and to the well being of the citizens. All this continued quibbling and indecisiveness is not going to deal with the problem.

The economy needs to be re-opened now. This is of course with the continued adherence to the guidelines to keep the virus from getting out of control.

Let the people decide, If you decide it is in your or your families interest to not go to school this year, OK stay home. Do what you think is best for you.

If you think you do not want to return to work, that is fine, stay home.

I am a senior citizen and I will continue to be cautious for the foreseeable future. I can make a sound judgement of what is in my best interest.

If anyone thinks we can shut down the country and continue to create money out of thin air to support everyone who wants to stay home, it will be the end of this country as we know it. Of course we can see that would be fine with many of those who would like to see just that.
